Vietnam Tourist Visa on Arrival: An Introduction

  1. Although Vietnam provides Visa on Arrival for Indians, to avail this facility, it is mandatory to get an Approval Letter from the Vietnamese Government before arriving in Vietnam.
  2. The Approval letter should be obtained online through a Travel Agent approved by the Vietnamese Government.
  3. Please be aware that you will not be allowed to board your flight to Vietnam unless you present the Approval Letter during Check-in and Immigration.
  4. Hence, technically speaking, this is not a Visa on Arrival, but an E-Visa + Visa on Arrival combination.
  5. Please also be aware that the Visa on Arrival facility is available only while entering Vietnam via Air.
  6. In case you plan to do a land crossing from a different country (e.g. Laos or Cambodia), you need to get a visa before hand through the Vietnamese Embassy.
  7. The good news is that the Visa on Arrival process is fairly easy and can be done in a very short time without too much documentation.
  8. You may please note that the total Visa Fee is USD 35 (Approval Letter + Visa on Arrival).
  9. The Visa is available for up to 90 days and for both SIngle Entry and Multiple Entry.
  10. However we are focusing on the 30 Day Single Entry Visa here. Step by step process below.

Hey Traveller, Do you also make the mistake of packing your regular bath towels for your trips?

What do you do when it's time to checkout, and your towel hasn't dried yet?

Pack that soggy towel in a plastic cover, and stink up your entire bag?

Or how about when the bulky turkey towel takes up all the space in your bag?

Now you struggle to fit in all your other stuff. Plus your bag is now heavy and bulky right?

Truth be told, the Towels we use everyday are not at all suited for Travel

Gamchas/ Thin cotton towels don't absorb well, and take forever to dry

Bulky terry towels absorb well but take longer to dry. Plus they waste baggage space.
